There can't be many industries which use jargon, buzz words and slang like the film and TV business, it's almost a language. A lot of it evolved from the early days of film making in America, like "It's a wrap", an acronym for Wind, Reel And Print, the process of sending the day's rushes to the lab for next day viewing. Many of the terms are a quicker way of describing kit, operators and processes, like stix for a tripod, Word Bird for a tele prompter operator.
